Terms of Service

Last updated: June 3, 2026

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the Ripe mobile application. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Ripe, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age, have read and understood these Terms, and agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, you must not use the app.

2. Description of Service

Ripe is a social coordination app for climbers. It enables users to log climbing session intent, coordinate with friends, check in at gyms, and create a private photo journal of shared sessions. Most social features are limited to mutual friends. Ripe also offers an optional, off-by-default feature called Discover Climbers: when you turn it on, a limited preview of your plan at a gym (your display name, photo, planned time, and climb type) becomes visible to other climbers who have also turned it on at that same gym, even if you are not friends. There are no open public feeds — discovery is symmetric and requires both people to opt in.

3. Account Registration

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at support@ripeclimb.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

Your @handle is unique and permanent once set. Your display name may be changed at any time from your profile settings.

4. User Conduct

You agree not to:

5. User Content

You retain ownership of photos you upload to your session memory vault. By uploading content, you grant Ripe a limited licence to store and display that content solely to you and the other members of the session in which it was created. We do not use your photos for advertising or share them with third parties.

Ephemeral session chat messages are automatically deleted when a session ends and are not retained by us.

Zero tolerance for objectionable content. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users on Ripe. You can report any photo, message, or profile from within the app, and you can block any user at any time. Blocking immediately hides that user's content from you and yours from them. We review every report and remove violating content and eject offending users, typically within 24 hours of the report. By using Ripe you agree to these terms and to refrain from posting objectionable content or engaging in abusive behaviour.

6. Privacy

Your use of Ripe is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please read it carefully.

7. Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings. Account deletion is permanent and irreversible. Upon deletion, all of your personal data — including your profile, session history, memory vault photos, and friendship records — will be permanently erased from our systems.

8. Termination by Us

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our sole discretion, with or without notice, if we determine that you have violated these Terms or that your continued use poses a risk to other users or the integrity of the service.

9. Disclaimers

Ripe is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. Use the app at your own risk.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Ripe and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, the app — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via a notice in the app. Your continued use of Ripe after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer is established, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.
